This residential project is a challenging one by itself. Located amongst traditional context, the building stands as an example to creating a contemporary functional design with all amenities in a least site area. The project was an inclination towards letting the mind and flow of design to take its shape as the construction progressed. The face front of the project is towards the south and has its entrance facing the east. The residence facilitates a double height internal stairway, living room, dining area, Pooja, Kitchen, bedroom and a utility area in the ground level.
The double height stairway is composed of filler slab for the roof, thereby bringing a sense of aesthetics and sustainability to the design. This element can be seen facing the southern horizon when the user enters the residence form car park stand point and from the living room. The dining area is an enlarged space specially designed for family participations and discussions. The wash area across the dining is developed to be a free standing basin against a clear glass overlooking the outside of the house. The concern of the design was to bring in outdoor to indoors and to ensemble a spacious layout irrespective of the site area constraint.
The massing of the project is developed towards the vertical front than a horizontal exploration. The master bedroom is one of the key highlight of the design which being a double height room by itself. Yes, you heard that right! The master bedroom located on the first level consist of a mezzanine floor right above the wardrobe and coffee table area of the room. This mezzanine floor is an exemplar to create a work space right inside the bedroom but with absolute privacy from the surrounding happenings of the very room. The work space overlooks a mountainous view bringing in a spectacular vibe both internally and externally. The first level is internally connected to open terrace area and second bedroom. The corridor space leading to the 2 rooms in the first level are instilled with day lighting by skylight opening from the roof slab.
On conclusion, THE VISIONARY is a visionary by itself letting the imaginative ideas to supersede the factual environment. Visionary was an exemplary project to Straight wall imprinting to bring the ideologies of a bigger home in smaller sites.
